This is an example of one of my VJ patches. Made entirely in max/MSP with Jitter, utilizing openGL to render 4 different shapes, modulated by a filtered audio input.
The sound is divided into 12 narrow bandpass filters on frequencies carefully chosen to have the greatest visual impact.
Different blend modes, lights, colours and render modes can be changes, which gives this patch a wide and dynamic usability.
The shapes can also be distorted via a series of complex sin/cos equations, as well as being glitched out by random offsets.
This video shows a rather simple example of use, another example is available in the next project.
